LuminaireVibrationTestTheluminairevibrationtestisdesignedtodeterminewhethertheluminaireisabletowithstandvibrationconditionsthatmaybeencounteredinnormalinstallations.Thetestisamechanicalperformanceevaluation.Therefore,theluminaireisnotnormallyenergizedduringthetest.Alampshallbeinstalledintheluminaireforthistest.Thetestcriteriaweredevelopedwithconsiderationtotheeffectofwindandtrafficinducedvibration.Theluminaireshallbeattachedasitwouldbemountedinthefieldtoavibrationtablecapableofwithstandingtheloadsandforcesencounteredduringthetestandtestedinamannertosimulateanormalinstallation.Theluminaireshallbevibratedatornearfundamentalresonantfrequency.Thisfrequencyshallbedeterminedforeachofthethreemutuallyperpendicularplanes(x,y,andz)andshouldbebetween2and30hertz.Theaccelerationintensitymeasuredattheluminaire’scenterofgravityshallbeasspecifiedinthecorrespondinglevelsasshownbelow.Level1shouldbeusedfornormalroadwayapplications.Level2shouldbeusedforbridgeandoverpassapplications.Iftheluminairehousingutilizesseveraldifferentmaterialsinitsconstruction,theworstcasecriteriafromthetablesshallbeusedinthetesting.Duringthevibrationtest,thefrequencyanddisplacementshouldbemonitored.Amajorchangeinfrequencyordisplacementisanindicationofstructuralfailure.Theluminaireshallbecapableofwithstandingthedescribedv...
